A whisper travels on the breeze, a tale spun from sugary lies and acrimonious truths. It speaks of a flow, its waters glinting with the promise of bliss. But within its depths lurks a venom, a deceptive lure that promises power at the cost of souls. They say those who stumble in its current are forever ensnared by the current's power, their lives forever twisted into a bitter melody.

A River of Syrup

On January 15th, 1919, Boston experienced a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank filled with molasses burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that swept through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, standing at least 25 feet in some areas, was horrifying. Buildings were flattened under the power of the sticky goo.

The aftermath was tragic. Twenty-one people lost their lives, and many more sustained wounds. The flood also caused ruin to property, leaving a trail of molasses carnage in its wake.
